In the rapidly changing healthcare landscape, there is a growing shift in how providers are reimbursed for care they provide. Payments are beginning to be increasingly tied to demonstration of high quality, more efficient and cost-effective care for patients. DMCPN is committed to assisting our physician members in navigating and participating in these changes and providing a structure that allows them to take advantage of a range of alternative payment models (e.g. fee-service with shared savings arrangements, pay-for-performance, narrow networks).
Joining DMCPN is easy. Participation is completely voluntary and non-exclusive. Also, since DMCPN is currently focused on negotiating value based bonus arrangements that are additional to the direct agreements you hold, your existing payer contracts remain in place with your practice.
Also, joining DMCPN also provides practices with the opportunity to participate in a preferred arrangement with the DMC employee benefit plan. DMC’s 20,000 employees and dependents will have lower out-of-pocket costs when using a Tier 1 provider. To assure your participation in our employee benefit plan preferred arrangement, we encourage you to return your DMCPN participation packet by August 31st, 2017. Additionally, if you sign up by August 31st, your application fee will be waived.
In order to participate, physicians will need to sign a network participation agreement and agree to follow a program of clinical initiatives aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of care provided to your patients. A small application fee, waived if you return your completed DMCPN participation agreement by Augusts 31st, 2017, and medical staff privileges at Detroit Medical Center or being otherwise approved for membership is also required.
